There are more sights, museums, shopping, restaurants, and nightlife options than you could possibly see in this short visit--we recommend staying as long as you can!

The weekend officially kicks off Friday evening at 5:00pm. Our WSA local will meet the group at the hostel at and welcome you to his home town with an orientational walk and talk.  You'll get the chance to explore the heart of the city and discover some of her hidden secrets.  We'll visit Dam square to check out the royal palace, see the narrowest house in Amsterdam, and discover the hidden garden of the Begijntjes a Catholic sisterhood.

On the way to our evening canal cruise, we'll grab a to-go ethnic bite tucked behind the New Church. On the canal cruise, you'll take in Amsterdam from the angle it was intended to be seen, from the water! Enjoy the time cruising with new friends, and you'll be free to take in Amsterdam's nightlife afterwards.

Day 2 - Saturday: More of Europe’s Craziest City

The group will meet up first thing 10am and head over to Museumplein, Amsterdam’s museum district, and skip the line into the Van Gogh museum to ponder some groundbreaking impressionist work. Next you'll get the chance to vist the iAmsterdam sign to to get your insta game on.

Next we'll grab a quick lunch and stroll through the Jordaan district and The 9 streets a quirky district with excellent shopping and loads of charm.

We'll grab a group dinner at another great budget restaurant before heading out for a walking tour of the infamous Red Light District.  You'll discover how it came to be, and how the Dutch take a very practical approach to today's hot topics.

Day 3 - Sunday: Tearful Goodbyes

Spend your last day exploring another fun neighborhood in town, checking out another one of Amsterdam’s 75 museums, getting out of the city to the breathtaking Keukenhof Tulip Fields, or crossing the River Ij on a free ferry to explore the north side of town. Happy Backpackers

This past weekend, I traveled to Budapest with WSA with a couple of friends from my university abroad, and I couldn't have asked for a better trip! After arriving at the hostel, we met Bogi, our tour guide for the weekend, who was instantly friendly and welcoming. Throughout the weekend, Bogi was an amazing guide! She showed us some great places for shopping and food, as well as the top sights around the city. You could tell she loved her job and never passed up an opportunity to share about her hometown and some of its history. She was so friendly and was sincerely interested in us as individuals and did everything she could do accommodate our priorities for the weekend (whether it was food, shopping, nightlife, sightseeing, etc.) I would highly recommend WSA's guided tours for any student studying abroad who wants to explore more than their university's city!
