BARCELONA Standard 3 Days, 2 Nights

Day 0 - Thursday: Early Arrival
Opt into an early arrival to spend more time in this beautiful city. Have a day to yourself on the beach, go shopping, explore the old town and more. Our local guide will drop in about 8pm to take you out for drinks or food.

Day 1 - Friday: Historic Heart
The official tour kicks off Friday at 10:00am at the hostel. The guide will go over some important details, then it’s off to the beautiful cobblestoned side streets of the medieval old town, Barri Gotic. Your group will continue towards Europe’s most famous shopping street, La Rambla, stopping for souvenirs and photo ops along the way. Now knowing Barcelona’s medieval town, the WSA tour guide will lead you to one of our favorite local Spanish joints for a bite to eat.

You will spend the afternoon on Barcelona’s picturesque golden beachfront for a bike tour along the boardwalk. The bike tour will then detour through the Parc de la Ciutadella, bursting with cheery locals, and lined with museums, gardens, and the Barcelona Zoo. After a quick siesta back at the hostel, rendezvous at 8:45pm for a traditional Spanish paella class! Dress to stay out, because it’s on for Barcelona’s world renowned nightlife that go until the sun rises!

Day 2 - Saturday: Modernist Expansion
Catch a light breakfast at the hostel by 10:30am, before zipping across town to geek out at Antonio Gaudi’s most ambitious project, the Sagrada Familia: an architectural masterpiece unlike any other. Upon leaving the cathedral, take a hike up to Park Guell, another one of Gaudi’s masterpieces, for a striking panoramic view of the city (and selfies!).

Enjoy the rest of your afternoon off, then regroup at the hostel at 7:00pm for another night out on the scene! Enjoy a group picnic during the Magic Fountain show at Plaza Espana – WSA will bring the cava, but BYO food, and more beverages. Traditional Spanish Flamenco is next at an intimate venue in the Barri Gotic. Tap your feet to the music, while watching a traditional festive dance rooted deeply in Spanish culture! Stick around, because it’s a Saturdaynight in Barcelona! Rip back over 200 different types of shots with us at Chupitos, or dance the night away with us at the beachfront clubs like Shoko or Pacha!

Day 3 - Sunday: Catalan Barcelona
In the morning, come with WSA to see the typical Catalan Sardana Dances in the shadow of Barcelona’s Cathedral. Want to break a sweat and have a free afternoon? Head up the Montjuic for some fantastic views over the entire city and the Mediterranean. Tour members are free to depart whenever to catch their flights or trains home!

Happy Backpackers

This past weekend, I traveled to Budapest with WSA with a couple of friends from my university abroad, and I couldn't have asked for a better trip! After arriving at the hostel, we met Bogi, our tour guide for the weekend, who was instantly friendly and welcoming. Throughout the weekend, Bogi was an amazing guide! She showed us some great places for shopping and food, as well as the top sights around the city. You could tell she loved her job and never passed up an opportunity to share about her hometown and some of its history. She was so friendly and was sincerely interested in us as individuals and did everything she could do accommodate our priorities for the weekend (whether it was food, shopping, nightlife, sightseeing, etc.) I would highly recommend WSA's guided tours for any student studying abroad who wants to explore more than their university's city!
