Check out the plan for your weekend in Amsterdam with WSA!

We're here to help you make the most of your $$$ and time in this amazing city. This is the itinerary the group will follow, and we'll be sending recommendations to help you fill your free time on Friday and Sunday.

The no hostel option means your find your own accommodation (hostel, airbnb, or hotel) and meet the group at the designated start time.

Day 0 - Thursday: Optional Early Arrival

Opt into an early arrival and get more time in Amsterdam! We have tons of recommendations we'll make in your prep email to fill your time. There are more sights, museums, shopping, restaurants, and nightlife options than you could possibly see in this short visit--we recommend staying as long as you can!

Day 1 - Friday: Getting to know Amsterdam

The weekend officially kicks off Friday evening at 5:00pm. Our WSA local will meet the group at the hostel at and welcome you to his home town with an orientational walk and talk.  You'll get the chance to explore the heart of the city and discover some of her hidden secrets.  We'll visit Dam square to check out the royal palace, see the narrowest house in Amsterdam, and discover the hidden garden of the Begijntjes a Catholic sisterhood.

On the way to our evening canal cruise, we'll grab a to-go ethnic bite tucked behind the New Church. On the canal cruise, you'll take in Amsterdam from the angle it was intended to be seen, from the water! Enjoy the time cruising with new friends, and you'll be free to take in Amsterdam's nightlife afterwards.

Day 2 - Saturday: More of Europe’s Craziest City

The group will meet up first thing 10am and head over to Museumplein, Amsterdam’s museum district, and skip the line into the Van Gogh museum to ponder some groundbreaking impressionist work. Next you'll get the chance to vist the iAmsterdam sign to to get your insta game on.

Next we'll stroll through the Jordaan district and grab a quick lunch before we skip the line into the Anne Frank House: the place where young Anne and her family hid from the Nazi's for over two years.

We'll grab a group dinner at another great budget restaurant before heading out for a walking tour of the infamous Red Light District.  You'll discover how it came to be, and how the Dutch take a very practical approach to today's hot topics.

Day 3 - Sunday: Tearful Goodbyes

Spend your last day exploring another fun neighborhood in town, checking out another one of Amsterdam’s 75 museums, getting out of the city to the breathtaking Keukenhof Tulip Fields, or crossing the River Ij on a free ferry to explore the north side of town. Your local WSA guide will be able to help direct you to whatever activities you’re most interested in. Tour members depart whenever necessary to catch trains and planes.

Happy Backpackers

I had a blast visiting Prague for the first time with WSA. To start, the hostel that WSA booked for the tour was incredible. The entire staff was very helpful, the rooms were nice, and there was a really cool bar downstairs with live music every night. Our tour guide was top notch as well. He was really fun and flexible with whatever our group wanted to do while making sure we saw all of the major sights, good places to eat, as well as the night life! I thought this trip was much easier to book through WSA rather than figure it all out myself and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to get the most out of their trip!
